Sustainability Workshop: BSF Circular Economy 黑水虻循環經濟工作坊

Join us to meet nature’s waste warriors: Black Soldier Flies! These incredible insects offer a highly efficient and low-carbon solution for Hong Kong’s food waste crisis. They devour scraps 50% faster than traditional composing, dramatically slashing waste volume while creating valuable resources such as organic fertilisers and protein-rich animal feeds. It’s circular economy magic!

In our hands-on workshop, you will witness larvae transforming waste right before your eyes, gain a new perspective on how daily choices impact waste, and learn more about sustainable waste management. Grab this chance to play with black soldier flies and see how they tackle a big problem!

來認識大自然的環保戰士—黑水虻！這些不可思議的昆蟲為香港廚餘危機提供了高效且低碳的解決方案。牠們分解廚餘的速度比傳統堆肥快50%，在大幅減少廢物量的同時，還能轉化成有機肥料與高蛋白動物飼料等寶貴資源。這就是循環經濟的魔法！

在這場工作坊中，參加者將親眼見證幼蟲分解廢物，重新審視日常選擇如何影響廢物量，及學習更多關於可持續廢物管理的策略。把握這次機會近距離接觸黑水虻，看看牠們如何解決重大難題！

Fees 費用: HK$100 (The fee will be reimbursed upon confirmation of student attendance at the event. 如參加者準時出席活動，費用將會全數退回。)

Please note that it will be a one-hour shuttle-bus ride. Be prepared for the journey! 車程需時1小時

Please bring along your ELA passport, your own snacks, water bottle, and mosquito repellent. 請帶備ELA 通行證。因活動時間長, 子女可帶自備少許零食、足夠飲用水及驅蚊用品。

Important Notes:
1. Registrations for outings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the quota is reached.
2. If the activity is oversubscribed, that is the number of registrations exceeds the available quota, participants will be selected through drawing lots. All registrants will be notified of their selection status following the draw.
3. Unsuccessful registrants will be placed on a waitlist in sequential order. Once there are vacancies, they will be filled by waitlisted participants accordingly.
4. Successful registrants will receive a confirmation email two weeks prior to the activity date. Upon receiving the confirmation, participants should settle the payment within 72 hours to secure the place. ASHK reserves the right to release the quota if participants fail to pay in time.

2. 如報名人數超出限額，將以抽籤方式決定參加者，所有已登記人士將於抽籤結果公布後獲個別通知。
3. 抽籤落選者將按順序列入輪候名單，如有名額釋出將依序遞補。
4. 成功報名者將於活動日兩週前收到確認電郵。 收到電郵後需於 72 小時內完成繳費以確認名額。若未按時繳費，本中心有權釋出該名額。
